Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree.
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
The above lines are from Surat Al Qadr a chapter from the Holy Quran. We’re onto the last 10 nights of Ramadan one of which is Laylat Al Qadr – The Night Of Decree. It was during one of these nights that the Holy Quran (verses of it) was brought down by Archangel Gibreel (PBUH) to the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for the first time.
It’s the odd nights of these 10 with 27th of Ramadan being most likely the night of Laylat Al Qadr. During these 10 nights we Muslims stay awake and read the Holy Quran and pray because of it’s quality of bringing countless mercy, blessings and forgiveness from Allah(SWT).
The above photograph was taken by my sister on her umrah trip. It’s two people sitting on opposite sides and coming from opposite nations one of them offering salat and the other one reading Quran. But they’re both there with the same goal of seeking Allah( SWT)’s pleasure.
